Severn Sake Set
Body of earth from the River Severn.
The rush of the Severn was eager on its journey down stream and the wind was blowing an icy gale. This deposit took all day to find, I walked the seams and creases of the earth as she met the river and eventually found a rich deposit of clay and it ran deep.
After months of processing the clay I worked with her and formed a few pieces. A sake set from the Severn emerged among other forms, there was no set intention to make but an openness to let the land transform. Fired to 1000c this little pocket of earth has a new story.
Tools; I work the clay body with bones, which I find when walking the lands. Pictured below is the shoulder blade of a badger and a spinal vertebrae of a dear
